Zion Canyon Arts and Humanities
Council (Z-Arts) and the Zion Canyon Visitors Bureau (www.zionpark.com)
will
host the 6th Annual Open Studio & Gallery Tour to Southern
Utah the last
weekend of April: With many new artists moving into
Zion Canyon this year, the 2008 tour will include over 30
artists. New this
year will be artists in Toquerville, Virgin, Rockville and
Springdale. The
Maynard Dixon Gallery in Mt. Carmel will also participate with
plein aire
artists organized by Susan Bingham and Kate Starling.
A free, self-guided tour weekend will kick-off with an artist
reception and
auction on Friday evening, April 25, 2008, from 7:00 - 9:00
p.m. The
appetizers & wine reception will be held at the Switchback at
the Zion Park
Inn. The fund-raiser for Z-Arts will include both a silent
auction and live
auction with works from each participating artist.
The remaining weekend's Open Studio & Gallery Tour is free and
self-guided
on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 & 27, 2008. Maps and specific
times will be
available from participating artists and galleries for
distribution
throughout Utah and Nevada, and may be downloaded from the
website, www.zarts.org, beginning in
early April, 2008.
